What was the cougar doing?
A cougar rests nearby
The image can reflect strength at ease. Consider whether you felt able to acknowledge progress you have made without looking immediately for another challenge.
A cougar acts aggressively
Threatening behaviour can give shape to pressure or a fear of losing control. Recall which part of the encounter unsettled you and whether the feeling resembles a difficulty you already face.
A cougar follows or chases you
Being pursued can bring to mind a fear or responsibility you have been avoiding. Recall what you were trying to get away from and whether that feeling is familiar when you are awake.
Where did you see the mountain lion?
On a mountain
The climb can give the encounter a sense of effort. The animal may draw attention to the strength or protection you hope to find as you work towards something difficult.
In a forest
An obscured animal can evoke a concern you only partly understand. Think about what made the scene feel threatening and what you could actually see.
On open ground
A wide view can bring to mind freedom or the ability to see where you want to go. Compare that feeling with any waking situation where a direction is becoming clearer.
A decision of your own
The next independent step
The cougar can evoke acting without waiting for someone else to take the lead. Think of a choice the dream brought to mind and what you could do to make that choice more deliberately.
